Phoenix Mansion: A Harmonious Blend of Modern Aesthetics and Traditional Chinese Elements

The design of Phoenix Mansion is inspired by the spatial diversity and oriental characteristics of classic Chinese gardens. The core space, adorned with courtyards planted with bamboo on the east and west sides, features a white central space with a sloped roof, reflecting sunlight. The abstract geometric pattern at the center not only aligns with the values of Greentown but also expresses an artistic conception.

The entrance of the Phoenix Mansion is subtly placed at an unremarkable corner, leading to a horizontal transitional space with a long overhang, inviting visitors into the space. The landscape elements at the front yard, inspired by classic Chinese gardens, are reorganized based on local conditions, creating a tranquil atmosphere. The team has meticulously crafted a quiet space from multiple dimensions, offering residents an escape from the city's noise.

The Phoenix Mansion, spanning 200 square meters, is constructed using aluminum panel, glass, and stone. The central courtyard, pavilion, veranda, bridge, and other Chinese-style architectural elements form the core landscape. The interior and exterior spaces are connected by French windows, through which the lobby comes into view. The flexible transition of functional spaces paves the way for unveiling the Phoenix Mansion property.

The project, which started in January 2018 and completed in December 2018 in Chengdu, faced the challenge of integrating modern aesthetics and traditional Chinese elements in spatial organization due to the limited site area. However, the team overcame this by creating a distinctive sales center that serves as an entrance lobby to the demonstration area.

Phoenix Mansion's unique design and successful integration of modern and traditional elements earned it the Silver A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award in 2021. The award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
